At Inception, Teacherscanbuyhomes sought to “Keep Lee Teachers in Lee County” This involved creating a program to allow teachers who could not qualify, or just reluctant to start the process, a way to make their dream of homeownership a reality. To date, since May 2016, we have helped over 130 Teachers buy and stay in Lee County as intended and donated over $85k to individual programs of the teachers choice. As the program grew, so did who we could help. We have helped Para Professionals, Custodial, Administration, Secretarial, Security, and since 2017, Department of Transportation as well. To date, we have helped 6 Drivers reach their goals. So to answer a question I get many times….YES Bus Drivers and mechanics/staff qualify for the program as well.
